Siaya Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo was among a battery of lawyers who arrived at Integrity Centre (EACC headquarters) shortly after former Treasury CS Ukur Yatani and Marsabit Governor Mohamed Ali were arrested.
Orengo was in the company of DAP-Kenya Party leader Eugene Wamalwa and Rarieda MP Paul Otiende Amollo.
Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission had arrested Marsabit Governor Mohamud Ali immediately he reported at their field office in Isiolo.
EACC spokesman Eric Ngubi subsequently confirmed the arrest.
The arrest came shortly after his predecessor and Former Treasury CS Ukur Yatani was taken into EACC custody.
Ngubi said the two were arrested in relation to an investigation into claims of unaccounted funds in the county government of Marsabit.
Yatani served as Marsabit Governor between 2013 to 2017 and was appointed CS by Former President Uhuru Kenyatta after losing the gubernatorial seat to Governor Mohamud.
The arrest of the two comes after the EACC detectives raided their homes in Marsabit and Nairobi Wednesday morning.
It is yet-to-be-established whether the duo remained in custody overnight or were released on cash bail.
