Siaya: Man Narrowly Escapes Death As He is Confronted by the Husband of his Lover

A man narrowly escaped death today when he was confronted by his step-brother who claimed he had taken over his wife.

The early evening fracas in Sirinde market of West Alego Ward of Siaya County drew a large crowd as the two brothers tussled outside the rented house of the woman in question.

Early last month Nicodemus Osiemo had a disagreement with his wife commonly known as Nyamalo and ejected her from his abode which is barely two hundred metres from the market. Nicodemus and Nyamalo are said to have sired two children (a son and a daughter) from their short-lived liaison whom they decided to share as they separated.

On separation Nyamalo rented a room at the market centre in the rental building owned by the cousin Mathew Ashers.

The acrymony between the two escalated when it became apparent that Mathew and Nyamalo had a thing going.

Earlier today the West Alego Chief Simon Olwendo issued a directive that the said Nyamalo should immediately move out of the locality and rent a house elsewhere to avoid an escalation of animosities between the two brothers.

When Nicodemus went to find out whether the Chief’s order had been obeyed he was confronted by his step-brother who was armed with a rungu. The confrontation however favoured the bulky Nicodemus who threw the wife-snatcher to the ground and proceeded to give him the beating of a lifetime.

The crowd looked on in bewilderment not knowing whether to interfere as the woman pleaded for someone to call the police before one brother murdered another.

By the time of going to press Nyamalo had disappeared. Unverified reports indicate that Nyamalo and Mathew have resolved to get married.
