The former Director of Governor’s Press Ben Agina today marked the last day of service to the great county of Siaya by writing a letter of appreciation to Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo.
Our sources at the Executive revealed that the letter received this afternoon formally completed the resignation tendered at the beginning of this month.
Once again, Agina took the opportunity to sincerely thank the governor for the opportunity, honour and privilege to serve the people of Siaya under the vision of Nyalore manifesto.
Agina recounted what a treasure-trove the time he spent working with the Executive in Siaya was.
“Working under your leadership has been an invaluable experience for me. Your dedication, passion, and commitment to serving the people of Siaya have been truly inspiring. I learnt so much during my time with your team of CECM, Advisors, Chief Officers, Directors not only professionally but also personally,” read part of the letter addressed to His Excellency Governor Orengo.
He also expressed gratitude for the trust and confidence bestowed upon him by the governor and stated that henceforth he will carry with him the lessons and experiences gleaned from working with a Change-driver.
Benjamin Agina took the Siaya appointment in early 2023 when Orengo appointed his men (the PA, Chief Of Staff, and Director of Governor’s Press).
There’s been a lot of speculation and conspiracy theories following his resignation late last month, much of which he has discounted as mere hearsay.
One of the theories advanced is that he moved back to Nairobi to continue his service for the Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Amollo Odinga from whom he had been seconded to Siaya. Other theories talk of a hostile working environment.
Our sources, however, revealed that Benjamin Agina’s time with Governor James Orengo was fulfilling and rampant with crucial life lessons.
