Siaya Deputy Governor Dr William Oduol Denge has sent a message of goodwill to all workers in the country as they marked this year’s International Labour Day.
In his message Dr. Oduol said that although conditions are far from ideal workers have distinguished themselves by displaying admirable commitment and tenacity.
Dr Oduol said Labour Day is universally dedicated to acknowledging the invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication of workers across all sectors and spheres.
He further said that the International Labour Day which this year fell on Wednesday May 1, 2024 is commemorated as a testimony to the enduring fight for workers rights.
“As we commemorate this year’s Labour Day let’s not loose sight of the need to improve safety and health conditions at the workplace,” said Dr. Oduol.
He commended doctors and their leaders from the medical fraternity for soberly seeking negotiated alternatives to the ongoing strikes.
