Siaya Governor James Orengo today inspected ongoing road construction works at Yala township.
The Governor expressed satisfaction with work on the Yala Ring Road in Yala Town. The 1.3 km stretch of road is being upgraded to bitumen standards. Protection of the road edges and cleaning of the side drains and culverts is also ongoing. This particular road is expected to ease urban movement in Yala Town and open it up to new investors.
The 200m stretch to the Yala Sub-County Hospital will also be upgraded to bitumen standards to make the facility more accessible.
Speaking on site Orengo said: “As you will soon realize it’s the new normal, my government is committed to strengthening the county’s road infrastructural network. I have a plan that will ensure that every Sub-County gets a new tarmac road, apart from opening up all the access roads to make them passable and all weather.”
Orengo said Siaya County is a land of unlimited possibilities and his administration will do everything possible to make residents realize each of their dreams.
