Reaching for the Youth: Abala Wanga Presides Over Gem Got Talent Pegeant

On Saturday 4th May, 2024 Kisumu City Manager Abala Wanga presided over the Gem Got Talent pageant held at Lihanda Primary School in East Gem.

The highly successful event was organised by Wezesha Youth Initiative and brought together over 1000 young people.

The youth showcased their talents in various disciplines and the beauty pegeant was exceptionally of high standards.

During the event Mr. Abala Wanga donated 650 sanitary pads as a gesture of his love and support for the education of the girl-child.

Wezesha Youth Initiative CEO Paul Victor Owino congratulated the Kisumu City Manager for his wholesome support of youth in Gem Constituency. Area Member of County Assembly Seth Baraka openly endorsed Mr Abala Wanga in his pursuit of the Gem Constituency Parliamentary seat.

Mr. Abala Wanga is billed as the strongest contender for the Gem Constituency seat against a field of over seven candidates including the incumbent Elisha Odhiambo and Siaya County Woman Representative Christine Ombaka among others.

Abala Wanga urged the youth to nurture talent saying some young people had made careers with a turnover of millions out of mere talent.

On the issue of upcoming Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party grassroots elections Mr Wanga said only party faithful deserved to be elected into office.

“To avoid moles in the Party only known party loyalists will be elected to various positions during the grassroots elections”, said Wanga.

The no-nonsense Administrator is credited with singlehandedly bringing Kisumu urban planning in order from a chaotic and crime-riddled pat.

Already political pundits are putting down the Gem parliamentary race in 2027 down to three horses; Abala Wanga, Christine Ombaka and the incumbent Elisha Odhiambo Akuba.
