Xiaomi Introduces Price Discounts on Redmi Phones for May

The Redmi Note 13 series, Redmi A3 and Redmi 12, Xiaomi’s latest midrange and entry-level smartphones are now on sale this month.

The device maker is running its May Sales promotion campaign that will go on from today till the 31st of this month. With this new campaign, Xiaomi is offering incredible discounts on its range of smartphones. For some reason, Redmi deals have been hard to come by but now the tide appears to be turning as the Note 13 series, Redmi A3 and Redmi 12 are now at their best prices this month.

Redmi A3 – Ksh 10,999
Launched early last month, the Redmi is the latest entry-level device from Xiaomi shipping with incredible features like the 6.71-inch HD screen protected by Gorilla Glass, up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage with support for expandable storage.

It comes running Android 14 and MIUI 14. The A3 has an 8MP dual AI camera setup at the back and a 5MP selfie camera for photography. Video recording is capped at 1080p 30fps for both main and front cameras.

Fueling the A3 is a 5000mAh battery that supports 10W Type-C charging. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint reader and a headphone jack.

Redmi 12 – Ksh 14,999
Launched late last year, the Redmi 12 is the next affordable device in Xiaomi’s lineup that’s also on sale this month.

The company skipped Redmi 11 from 10 and went straight to 12. The Redmi 12 features a clean flat design spearheaded by the 6.79-inch 1080p LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It also brings a glass back and an I53 rating for dust and water splash resistance.

It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader embedded in the power button and an IR blaster located at the top which makes the phone usable as a remote to control some home appliances including TVs and Air conditioners.

The Redmi 12 has a single bottom-facing speaker for audio and a headphone jack is found at the top of the phone.

MediaTek’s Helio G88 processor is powering the phone with RAM and storage options starting from 8GB and 128GB/256GB respectively. The phone ships with Android 13 and MIUI 14.

Redmi 12 has a triple rear setup comprised of a 50MP main, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro sensor – the lenses sit alone instead in rings as opposed to having a camera island. For selfies, we get an 8MP front-facing camera. Video recording for both main and selfie cameras is capped at 1080p 30fps.

Redmi 12 has a 5000mAh battery supporting 18W(PD) fast Type-C charging.

Redmi 12 comes in Moonstone Silver, Polar Silver, Midnight Black and Sky Blue colours.
