In response to High Court’s order to president William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government, KMPDU officials led by Secretary-general Devji Attelah has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the state.

As reported in Tuesday’s People Daily publication, Doctors have given government a 48-hour ultimatum to go back to the table for final talks on unresolved issues of 2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Attelah noted that the government should address all the issues raised failure to which they will resume their ongoing strike which has arguably disrupted medical services across the country.

His statement came in line with High Court’s threats of ordering sacking of medics as their strike enters 54th day today.

It should be noted that the government through the ministry of health has declined to approve the KES 206,000 salary demand for interns.

The move sparked sharp reactions from Kenyans online leading to Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria suggesting revocation of the permanent and pensionable employment terms for civil servants to contract.

In other news President William Ruto has announced a KES 10,000 funding to households which were affected by the ongoing floods. He was speaking last evening after visiting Mathare residents who were displaced by floods.
