Siaya Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo on Tuesday 21 May sent a message of goodwill to his former Director of Governor’s Press Unit Mr. Benjamin Isaiah Agina.
In the thoughtful short treatise Orengo described Agina as a conscientious worker and a highly disciplined professional media personality.
Orengo thanked Agina for his selfless service to the people of Siaya and acknowledged his extensive networking in the media industry. The Governor reminiscenced of the excellent working relationship they enjoyed as a team and confirmed that should the need arise, he would only be too glad to resuscitate that relationship.
Veteran journalist Ben Agina tendered his resignation from the service of the Governor on 24 March 2024 amid heightened speculation about a tense working environment.
Among his illustrious qualifications Agina holds an MA in International Journalism from the University of Leeds.
His LinkedIn page indicates he is a government relations expert, Regional partnerships specialist and PR & communications strategist.
He has over 30 years of experience in strategic leadership, global partnership, government relations, diplomatic corporations, strategic communications, crisis management and community engagement.
Agina also served in the British consulate for a stint before being engaged in the Azimio campaign Secretariat.
Governor Orengo, in dispelling the wild speculations, said he would be pleased to engage Agina anytime should the opportunity avail itself.
