President William Ruto has developed a collaborative approach to his politics and is said to be engaging a section of governors from both the Kenya Kwanza coalition and the Azimio camp.
Some see him as a crafty man who is already planning formations for 2027. The President is now said to have resorted to engaging the governors in the delivery of his key agenda for the Kenya Kwanza government.
From the Kenya Kwanza side, he has chairperson Anne Waiguru, Johnson Sakaja Nairobi and Nakuru’s Susan Kihika. He then has from the Azimio side, Gladys Wanga of Homa Bay, Fernandes Barasa of Kakamega and Wavinya Ndeti of Machakos.
These governors reportedly act as the bridges between Mr Ruto and the other governors, and they are also his ears to whatever the other governors feel and think about his programmes.
They then lobby their colleagues to back some of the policies that require the Governor’s backing.
