A man who brutally attacked a traffic police officer on duty has been apprehended.
Late evening reports indicate that DCI sleuths surrounded his hideout which was believed to be his girlfriend’s house before dramatically flushing him out.
Law enforcement agencies have been embarrassed after a man was captured on a video gone viral, brutally assaulting the officer. The incident took place when the officer flagged down a motorist to stop him from taking an unlawful U-turn, and causing an obstruction to other traffic on Kamiti Road.
Sadly, as the police officer approached the motorist the culprit got out of the vehicle and following a short altercation was seen raining blows and kicks on the Officer.
The events unfold rather fast and the surprised Officer is not only overcome but also shoved into a ditch by the roadside.
A crowd quickly gathers and the policeman is extricated to an unknown destination before being transferred to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for further treatment.
The culprit is said to have taken refuge in his girlfriend’s house immediately after the incident until a lead from the public led to his arrest.
