Shockwave Among Catholics As Siaya Man Defecates on Pulpit

Police in Bondo, Siaya County are investigating a report showing that a man gained entry into a Catholic church within the town and defecated on a statue alleged to depict Jesus 

The incident occurred at St. Andrews Catholic Church while a few congregants were deep in prayer.

According to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo the man dressed in a stripped shirt walked to the pulpit and defecated on the statue before placing it out of view.

“The heinous act was reported at Bondo police station by the parish priest, Rev. Father Edwin Obudho,” Kimaiyo said, adding “Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, it was established that a stranger who was dressed in a black and white striped shirt and black trousers entered the church hall when a few congregants were deep in prayer.”

The incident has sent shockwaves among the Catholic fraternity in the region. The motive for the defecation is yet-to-be-established.
