Incoming Kisumu Senator Fred Odumo Nying’uro will today launch a free medical camp at the Tojobi Medical and Wellness Centre in Kisumu County.
The medical camp will offer free consultations, screening and preliminary treatment for psychiatric, ophthalmic and nutritional illnesses.
Apart from offering counselling services, there will be a screening for cervical cancer, blood pressure check, health education, weight check and consultations for cataract surgery.
The medical camp is jointly sponsored by Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro and the Tojobi Medical and Wellness Centre in conjunction with Gifted Minds and Bloom Surgical Centre.
The event is billed as a first for Kisumu County as it is the only comprehensive screening and treatment camp ever set up by an individual.
Fred Odumo Nying’uro is aspiring to take over from Prof. Tom Odhiambo Ojienda as the Kisumu County Senator and already he has made a remarkable impact in areas of healthcare, education and economic empowerment of women and youth.
Speaking about today’s event the city lawyer said:
“The medical camp will not only offer medical services but will represent a symbol of the community’s resilience in the face of adversity and the need to look out for one another. Let’s stand tall, spread hope, and show the power of coming together for a healthier, brighter tomorrow. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of our beloved Kisumu.”
Other local politicians as well as the administration have indicated that they will be attending the free medical camp.
