Siaya UDA Party luminaries Frederick Oyugi Dor and Engineer Nicholas Odero Gumbo yesterday attended a prayer service at Nomiya Church, Bar Aluru Parish in Bondo yesterday.
During the service the UDA strongmen requested for prayers and humbly knelt before the altar as special supplication was made on their behalf.
Later they joined congregants at St Stephen’s Parish Lwala ACK Church in West Asembo Ward, Rarieda Constituency.
Both Gumbo and Dor challenged the people of God to pray for the nation. They also reiterated their support for Raila Odinga’s bid for the Africa Union Commission Chairperson seat.
Gumbo holds the singular distinction of having vied twice and narrowly lost the Siaya County gubernatorial seat. He is one of the politicians in Siaya who command respect irrespective of allegiance to political party.
Oyugi Dor is also an astute politician but his choice of vying for a parliamentary seat in Ugunja against the political powerhouse known as James Opiyo Wandayi is ill-advised.
Oyugi Dor will only stand a chance if Wandayi is not vying.
