Applications for the September start of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service are now being accepted via the website.
The application deadline is June 21, 2024.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has clarified that this application is for those who have passed the KCSE and are interested in joining KMTC programs from 2014 to 2023.
“This also applies to those who have applied in the past but were not accepted,” KUCCPS mentioned. To apply, students need to visit the student portal on the KUCCPS website, www.kuccps.ac.ke, or the link students.kuccps.net.
Once on the portal, students should navigate to the Login tab and enter their KCSE year and index number in the designated fields. The Placement Service has stated, “Your login details are your Birth Certificate Number or Your KCPE Index Number.”
After logging in, students can explore the available courses and their prerequisites by clicking on “KMTC Programmes.”
Students will only be able to apply for courses that meet their prerequisites.
“Once you have chosen your preferred courses, you will need to input the Programme Codes,” KUCCPS advised.
Next, students should select “Apply Now” from the “KMTC Application” section.
The Programme Codes will be filled out by the student on the provided form.
KUCCPS recommends that applicants rank their preferred courses from most to least.
The Placement Service mentioned, “From your top choice (No. 1) to your least favorite choice (No. 4).”
According to KUCCPS, applicants should wait for the system to gather all course details before clicking submit after entering the Programme Codes for any course of interest.
Regarding payment, KUCCPS noted that applicants who were not selected for KMTC funding should use their previous Payment Reference Code when reapplying instead of incurring new fees.
When the first-time applicant clicks the Submit button on the online application form, a pop-up window will appear with a link to “Click Here to Pay.”
“If you have already paid, enter the Payment Reference Code generated by eCitizen,” KUCCPS instructed.
After selecting the relevant payment option from the list, the applicant will proceed to make the payment as directed.
“For M-PESA, select the appropriate button, and the payment details will be displayed, including Business Number (222222), a Payment Reference Code, and the required amount,” KUCCPS explained.
Students must use the M-PESA Menu on their mobile phone to follow the instructions provided.
After completing the payment, the applicant will return to the application window and submit their application using the eCitizen Payment Reference Code.
The MPESA transaction code should not be used, according to KUCCPS.
“The same Ref. Code will be needed for any future updates to your application; hence, it is advised to keep it,” KUCCPS added.
Once the application is successfully paid and submitted, the applicant will receive a notification that their application has been marked as successful.
The applicant will be able to view their successfully submitted application on the Dashboard.
