A man in Siaya has killed his wife in a dispute over KES 30.
Bernard Odweso of Nyalula village in Central Alego is said to have stabbed and and fatally wounded his 55-year-old wife Pamela Anyango over the money.
The tragic incident occurred at the couples’ home when Pamela accused her husband of stealing the money to go and pay a church offering.
An enraged Bernard pounced on her stabbing her with a knife severally until she fell down dead.
Villagers responding to the commotion found Pamela dead and immediately pounced on Bernard.
The irate villagers subsequently beat up Odweso into a pulp.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo told the media that their 22-year-old daughter, Vida Odweso narrowly escaped being drawn into the sad fracas.
Her brother 24-year-old Dickens Odweso was not so lucky as he sustained superficial injuries after being attacked by his father.
Pamela Anyango died on the spot while Bernard Odweso was pronounced dead on arrival at the Siaya County Referral Hospital.
The tragic incident has left the Odweso family devastated and the community grappling with the senseless violence that erupted over such a trivial amount.
