Were Goons Hired to Disrupt Gen Z Demonstrations in Siaya?

Spread the love

On Thursday a number of youth turned out in Siaya town to protest that earlier Gen Z protests had been disrupted by hired “goons”.

This claims have sinister undertones considering that someone is dying to turn the focus of the anti-government demonstrations to the Siaya County Government.

Already a raft of demands has been shared widely on social media demanding among other things that the governor explains how the contract to construct the multi-million Siaya Stadium was awarded.

This are not new demands and they can be traced to a certain civil rights agitator and his social media henchmen who have been engaged in a long-term campaign against Orengo’s administration. Some of the demands are sensational and lack factual backing.
The question remains, however, did the county government hire goons to disperse peaceful protests by the youth through Siaya town?. And why were the Thursday picketers specific that the Township Ward MCA was involved?

If the Gen Z youth have succeeded in routing out corrrupt practices in the national government it’s only logical that their binoculars will next be trained on county governments. Creating havoc among peaceful demonstrators only heightens dissent and whoever thinks that the new uprising can be wished away is a daydreamer.

Luckily, the Gen Z have proven that their mission is not driven by vendetta. They have categorically disowned the raft of demands on Siaya circulating on social media.

If you see peaceful demonstrators in Siaya heading to the County Government headquarters they are only out to air grievances against the national government and not the governor.

After all James Aggrey Bob Orengo is a darling of the Gen Z movement!
