Police in Kitengela, Kajiado County have arrested over thirty Ethiopian nationals suspected to be on their way to South Africa. The arrests happened in the Acacia area after residents reported suspicious activities.
Isinya Police Commander Patrick Manyasi said officers responded to a tip-off and found the men without identification documents. Some were detained by the public at a nearby petrol station.
The Ethiopians couldn’t explain how they arrived in Kenya due to language barriers and had no travel documents. Police suspect human trafficking and are investigating. James Muchina, a local resident, said the aliens had been in the house for a week. He praised the quick action of the police.
The suspects are currently held at Kitengela Police Station and will appear in court on Monday. Police are also searching for the homeowner. Manyasi encouraged the public to report suspicious activities promptly to enhance security.
