Siaya Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo has warned Kenyans to be cautious of people trying to finish the ODM Party by absorption into the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Speaking at a burial in Siaya County the governor said that the dictatorial one-party rule begun by the amalgamation of KADU into the KANU government and senior politicians such as Masinde Muliro were duped wholly into joining the then admininistration.
“Ruto has succeeded in killing Jubilee now he’s out to decimate ODM Party. I’m urging my fellow countrymen to be vigilant. We don’t want to go back to the dark ages of single party rule.,” said Orengo.
He also reaffirmed his stand on the Gen Z movement saying: “I stand with Gen Z, I stand with ODM Party and I stand with responsible and accountable governance.”
Orengo’s hard stance and criticism of certain people within the ranks of ODM Party advocating for inclusion into the Kenya Kwanza government has been construed as rebellion against party leader Raila Amollo Odinga.
To make matters clear the vocal Siaya Governor caused laughter when he used an apt analogy saying those joining the UDA Government were akin to people entering a marriage without a wedding certificate – the terms of the marriage can change anytime.
In a humorous side-sweep at the party leader, Orengo said.
“When you have a huge bull in your kraal everyone visiting your home is bound to see it first before they see other livestock you own. The bull because of size and pedigree will always attract attention, irrespective of the fact that it might be castrated!”
James Aggrey Bob Orengo, Babu Owino and Edwin Sifuna are among the hardliners in ODM Party who have refused to cross the floor and board the Kenya Kwanza administration vehicle which they consider as transient.
Orengo who is a globally-recognised human rights activist posseses a wealth of experience on government and may not be wished away when he calls the current administration a passing cloud.
