Fred Odumo Nying’uro Among Battery of Lawyers Who Appeared During the Vetting of AG Dorcas Oduor

The distinguished Senior Counsel Fred Odumo Nying’uro has previously worked as the Chief Legal Advisor in the Office of the Chief Justice besides taking up other critical jurisprudential appointments.

Addressing the media shortly afterwards Mr. Nying’uro congratulated Dorcas Oduor for being appointed Kenya’s first female Attorney General and one whose nomination has received universal acclaim as meritorious.

During the vetting Attorney General nominee Dorcas Oduor revealed her net-worth at KES 85 million.

“Since my late husband died, we have not distributed amongst my children, the total family worth amounting to KES 85 million,” she told the committee.

She also specified that her net-worth entails land, houses and a car.

The exemplary Oduor holds impressive legal qualifications as well as Head of State Commendations of the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) and Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH). If appointed she will replace Justin Muturi whose new docket is Cabinet Secretary for Public Service.

“I will be a responsive Attorney General and a lawyer of the people and I hope the office of Attorney General will walk with all people of Kenya in realising our aspirations under the constitution,” said Oduor, adding “I will walk with Kenyans to realise the vision of the Constitution of Kenya.”
