Watchman Stabbed to Death Trying to Separate 2 Revellers Fighting at Kitu Moto, Siaya
Ben Peter a night guard at Resort Kitu Moto met his untimely death early Sunday morning as he tried separating fighting revellers at the popular joint in Siaya CBD.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo confirmed that the night guard was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Siaya County Referral Hospital where he was rushed following the stabbing.
Kimaiyo also said the tragic incident was reported by one Michael Mugola.
“The police immediately rushed to the scene where we rescued a Mr. Brian Otieno Ogolla who was being beaten up by the public as a culprit in the stabbing. The irate revellers were determined to finish Ogolla but we rushed him to hospital where he was attended and is now in a stable condition,” said the police boss.
The incident is said to have occurred at around 1:30 am on Saturday night when a group of revellers turned chaotic forcing the watchman to intervene. It was while he attempted to separate Ogolla and an unidentified person that the culprit drew a knife and stabbed Ben Peter twice on the chest.
In the melee that followed Mr Miichael Mugola alerted the police who rushed to the scene and rescued Ogolla from a possible lynching.
Kitu Moto Resort and Nightclub is run by a school principal.
The body of the stabbed Watchman has been moved to the morgue at Siaya County Referral Hospital while the critically injured Ogolla is undergoing treatment in the same facility under tight police guard.
