On Monday 14 August 2024, the caucus of Deputy Governors convened a consultative meeting to discuss key issues affecting County Governments including clawback on devolution. During the meeting elections were held and the universally admired Oduol elected Deputy Chairperson.

His Excellency Reuben Kamuri was elected Chairperson.
Oduol’s political fortune appeared to take a downhill plunge following incessant feuding with his boss at the county, Senior Counsel James Orengo, Governor of Siaya. His claims of corruption and mismanagement of funds saw a compromised Assembly impeach him only for him to be reinstated by the Senate.
With time the Siaya DG has been vindicated on issues he raised such as non-remittance of statutory deductions, otherwise called salary byproducts; NHIF, NSSF, CPF, LAPFUND. For the past few months these have been paid to Siaya County Government but not remitted to the authorities.
CPA Dr. William Oduol Denge first took a shot at the Siaya gubernatorial seat in 2013 and the courts had to come in to determine a winner between him and Rasanga due to the thin victory margin. In the 2022 Elections he was swayed from taking a shot at the Alego-Usonga Constituency seat and instead convinced to add impetus to the James Orengo gubernatorial ticket.
