BREAKING: Orengo Poised to Succeed Raila As ODM Party Leader, Poll Results Show

Out of a call-in-sample of 100 votes, Orengo received 54 votes, against Homabay Governor Gladys Atieno Wanga who garnered 40. Kisii’s Simba Arati and Kisumu’s Peter Nyong’o received 2 votes apiece, with two ballots being spoilt.

“We want Governor Orengo to succeed Odinga as ODM Party leader,” callers to the station repeatedly asserted.

Raila Odinga’s potential move to the African Union Commission (AUC) has ignited heated debate over his succession in the party leadership and inherently as a regional kingpin.

Orengo detractors have sponsored online smear campaigns with very little genuine evidence to besmirch the personality of the illustrious Senior Counsel. With barely two years in office a recent independent audit found that Orengo had already accomplished sixty-percent of his nine-point agenda barely two years in office.

The poll was moderated by prominent Luo media personality and breakfast show host Festus Amimo.

Orengo’s undisputed lead now underscores the confidence members of ODM Party (and particularly that segment which actively participates in voting) have in him as a leader.
