Vacancies: Judicial Service Commission is Recruiting Interns

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) of Kenya has announced the availability of 109 internship opportunities across various departments within the judiciary. This internship program is designed to offer young Kenyan graduates an invaluable chance to gain hands-on experience in their fields of study, develop essential professional skills, and understand the workings of Kenya’s judiciary system. With a generous stipend, these internships aim to support participants as they take meaningful steps in their careers.

Job Overview
Judicial Recruitment internship program
These internships are aimed at providing recent graduates the chance to translate classroom knowledge into practical, real-world experience. Interns will be assigned to various court stations and judicial offices across Kenya, with placements available in several functional areas, including office administration, information technology, records management, supply chain management, and more.

In addition to gaining work experience, interns will have the opportunity to contribute to Kenya’s justice system, support judicial processes, and learn from experienced professionals. This internship program is structured for a period of 12 months, after which interns will have completed a non-renewable term with the Judicial Service Commission.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for these internship positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Kenyan Youth: Applicants must be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 35 years.
Educational Qualifications:
Candidates should hold either a Degree or Diploma from a recognized institution.
The internship is open only to those who have not been exposed to work experience in their area of study within the last two years. This program is particularly targeted at recent graduates, allowing them to gain valuable work experience.

No Previous Government Internship:
Applicants should not have participated in any other internship program within any government department or agency. This requirement ensures that the internship program remains open to those who are new to government work experiences and who can benefit most from the opportunity.

Computer Skills:
Proficiency in computer skills is required for all applicants, as interns will engage in various administrative and digital tasks, depending on their deployment area.

Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution:
Applicants must meet the requirements outlined in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, which emphasizes integrity and accountability within public service roles.

Key Areas of Deployment
Interns will be deployed in various departments within the Judiciary based on their educational backgrounds and interests. Available areas of deployment include:

Office Administration (Secretarial Services)
Information Communication & Technology (including ICT Security, Network Engineering, Database Administration, Web Development, System Administration, Application Development, and ICT Support Engineering)
Supply Chain Management
Information Science and Records Management (including Library Services and Records Management)
Building Services (such as Structural Engineering, Architecture, and Construction/Project Management)
Each intern will work under the supervision of a designated mentor who will guide them through their roles, helping them develop their skills and gain insights into Kenya’s legal and administrative processes.
