Veronicah Waithira Waigwe, a 19-year-old high school student from Gatheru Kiharu in Murang’a County, who had been missing for several days, has reached out to her family to confirm she is safe.
According to an update by Kameme FM presenter Nungari on her Facebook page, the young woman, whose disappearance had sparked concern among her family and community, took to social media to reassure everyone that she is well and has now gotten married.
The news came as a relief to her followers, who had been anxiously following the search. Despite the positive update, it remains unclear whether Waithira plans to return home to complete her studies, as her current situation leaves her family and local community uncertain of what steps, if any, will be taken.
Her parents and other relatives have not publicly commented on whether they intend to take further action to bring her back home.
The case has raised concerns about the challenges many young people face, as well as the complexity of family dynamics. For now, the local community remains grateful that she has been found safe.
