President William Ruto on Friday, December 13, announced plans to roll out new police uniforms in the coming weeks. This is one of the numerous changes Ruto promised to the over 100,000 police officers.
Speaking during the launch of the National Police and State Department of Correctional Services Strategic Plans 2023-2027, the Head of State said he would soon engage the police leadership to set the dates for the rollout of the new uniforms.
President Ruto explained that the government’s decision to roll out the new police uniforms was aimed at inspiring the officers in their work.
“As I said before, we will engage the policemen and women so that we can have an appropriate uniform. I know that has been agreed upon, and what is awaiting is the rollout,” Ruto said.
“We will make sure that we give our policemen and women uniforms that inspire them to work and to go forward, that is something that we are going to do,” he added.
