A project of GulfCap Real Estate, the LV Marina is expected to be a game changer in the region with innovative real estate, tourism, holiday and entertainment facilities.

The former Premier was accompanied during the launch by an array of local and national leaders including the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly.

Also present were Nairobi Governor Johnson Arthur Sakaja, Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang Nyong’o, Homabay Governor Gladys Wanga Nyasuna, Junet Mohammed and Kisumu Senatorial aspirant Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro.

“This development serves to confirm Kisumu’s emerging status as a progressive city and county, that is preparing for the future. The future belongs to the cities that offer higher standards of life, including better homes, better schools for our children, good hospitals, good social amenities and good jobs. I believe that the best way to give every resident a stake in a city or an urban center is to give them a good home or house,” said Raila.

Kisumu, like all our urban centers, is grappling with the challenge of rural-urban migration that has seen the proliferation of unplanned settlements that offer inadequate living standards and are vulnerable to crime and insecurity, among other problems.

The arrival of LV Marina here, with a focus on injecting international standards of living to this vibrant city is a manifestation of what the private sector can do to help local authorities address basic challenges like provision of decent housing in our urban centres.
