Orengo Upgrades Sega, Ukwala to Town Status, Opens More New Roads

If there is development that benefits a society without discrimination its investment in the infrastructure.

Proper road network creates a stimulating effect that creates wealth.

There is a strong correlation between the county’s economic development and quality of its road networks, it is out of this realisation that the Nyalore administration found it fit to invest on road networks in Siaya through the department of roads.

Siaya, Akala, Ndori has been at the center this transformation.

Considering high generating of wealth from these roads, the Nyalore administration thought of investing on road network.

The roads were characterised with dust on dry seasons and muddy during heavy downpour.

Today(Wednesday) morning, Governor James Orengo commissioned the completed Rabango junction-Siaya Kababa -hospital road.

And in the afternoon, Orengo launched the construction of Sega Market ring road meant to boost transport,safety and trade in the region.

The road aims at improving accessibility hence improving property value besides boosting the general business environment for informal traders.

Orengo said the road is part of his wider plans to attract investors in Siaya.

“I am a Governor who actialises his plans .the Contractor (Mjesh Enterprises limited) whom we have trusted with the with the work is superb and President William Ruto and his Uganda counterpart Yoweri Mseveni were musmarised by his work at Migwena grounds and Siaya stadium.

We are optimistic that the Sega ring road will be completed. It shall start from the Sega tarmac, goes round the market and it extends past Sega mission Catholic till it connects to Ugunja-Busia road.

“I want to thank Speaker George Okode and entire assembly numbers for approving it’s Budget. Tomorrow, we shall be in Yala launching the ring road.

Sega Bodaboda operators have lauded Nyalore administration for improving poor road network in Sega saying it shall open area for more business opportunities.

Joseph Oloo, a rider at Sega says the road being done by Mjesh Enterprises limited its vital for it connects the center to tarmac along Ugunja-Busia road.

For sure, Orengo is out to fix initiatives that drives the economy of Siaya.

Angelina Anyango, a cereal dealer in Sega, Orengo has been responded to the dusty distress we have suffered.

She cited the poor road network as a marketing challenge.

“Orengo has came to our aid through the improvement of the road to bitumen standards, ” said Anyango.

Several MCA’s including North Ugenya MCA Ben Adalla, The Budget chair Sylverster Madialo, North Gem MCA Bismac Olango, Ukwala’s Peter Oduor and Central Gem MCA Silas Madingu backed Orengo on road investments.
