For years, my career followed a painful and confusing pattern. I would pass interviews with ease, impress managers, and start new jobs full of hope. The problem always came a few weeks later. During probation, suddenly everything would go wrong.
Mistakes I never made were blamed on me, attitudes toward me changed, and contracts were terminated without clear explanations. This happened in four different companies, in different towns, under different supervisors.
