Only days after the interment of James Opiyo Achich another youthful political activist in Siaya is no more.
The death of martial arts expert Douglas Odero commonly known as Daggy has cast a dark shadow among friends and acquaintances in Siaya.
Daggy passed on Monday morning. He hailed from Alego-Usonga.
His body has been moved to Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary from Siaya Medical Centre where he died.
ADVERTISEMENTAmong those who were first to send their condolences was Siaya Governor James Orengo who referred intimately to the deceased with his cherished title: Odero Spoiler.
“Words may not suffice to express my heartfelt sorrow for the passing on of Douglas Odero, number one supporter of ODM Party, myself and Hon. Samuel Atandi Meli,” Governor Orengo posted on Twitter, adding “Your energy towards the good of the party is immeasurable. This is a major blow to me. Fare Thee Well Odero Spoiler!”
041 County, the most significant political WhatsApp group in Siaya dedicated the day to Daggy and there was a ceasefire in the usually vitriolic exchanges as members shared their memories with the departed.
