Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu on Monday announced the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results.
The results could have been released last year but the Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT requested the release not be rushed to avoid the problems experienced during the KCPE results release.
However, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) portal has not surmounted a technical handicap and still experiences disjointed varying results through the messaging system.
According to the CS, the exam was performed well with 210,000 candidates getting grades for university placement. The results have left Kenyans talking because academic giants that many always expected to pass were floored by smaller ones that have not shone in the past. The top 20 schools in the released exams are as below together with their mean scores:

5. St Brigids Girls High Kiminini – 10.5
6. Starthmore School – 10.5

11. St. Antonys Boys Kitale – 10.33
12. Gonzaga Gonza – 10.3
