“Hello Boniface, hide my identity, please.
There’s a case of a young lady called Emmaculate Odhiambo who was living in Kileleshwa with her aunt and aunt’s husband, a police officer named Tobias Odhiambo, stationed at Kileleshwa Police Station. It’s alleged that on the evening of Thursday, 11th January 2024, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., the lady was sent to buy food and was accompanied by a young kid. They claim that the lady slid at the gate, fell head-first into the drainage tunnel, and was swept away by flash floods.
They further claim to have searched for the body around that place, only to recover it at 9 p.m. I have attached a photo of the place where they claim she fell and was swept away by the water so that you can study the vegetation around that drainage channel and make your conclusions. The image was taken on Friday morning.
The aunt and her husband allege that when the body was found at around 9 p.m. she had already succumbed. They go further to state that she was taken to Chiromo Morgue at 9 p.m. yet details at the morgue indicate the body was booked at 3 a.m.
On Friday morning, those who saw the body claim it was bruised, and blood was oozing from the head, mouth, and nose. The police from Kileleshwa dumped the body at the Chiromo morgue and didn’t investigate anything until today. Those who were living with the lady instructed the morgue attendant not to permit non-family members to view the body, meaning even friends couldn’t be allowed in. They further convinced all family members, except her grandmother, not to insist on a postmortem examination, or record a statement at Kileleshwa Police Station, claiming it was a natural death.
The dead lady was an orphan since childhood, and was raised by her grandmother. After completing her college studies at Nyabondo Medical Training College, the aunt requested that she go live with them while she looked for a job.
What bothers me is why the police failed to take up the matter. Is it a case of trying to protect their fellow officer or what? Please share so that justice can be served for her ageing grandmother.” – Via DM #SemaUkweli
