President Ruto has raised eyebrows when he directed Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro to liaise with Interior PS Bitok to ensure issues are streamlined at the Immigration Department.
There has been a huge problem in the Ministry of Interior and specifically the Department of Immigration. Kenyans have always been stranded whenever they secure jobs abroad and the problem comes in when their passport delays. A good number are reported to have missed great opportunities and even the Green Card lottery winners experience the same as their deadlines expire before they secure their passports.
Ruto’s call for Kenyans to apply for jobs abroad might have been let down by the slow processing of passports at Nyayo House. Kenyans are however lucky today after Ruto’s latest order. It is reported that the President has directed the member of Parliament of Kiharu Constituency to fast-track the process of obtaining passports. The MP has been told to work hand in hand with PS Bitok.
Even the president directs the two leaders to see ways in which the passport processing can only take a maximum of one month. Kenyans who applied for their passports two months to One year ago have not received their passports to date.
It is yet-to-be-established what expertise the Kiharu member of parliament possesses in relation to speeding up procurement of passports.
