Former Sports and Youth Affairs Cabinet Secretary Rashid Mohammed Echesa today spoke to the media for the first time since he was arrested and subsequently released under unclear circumstances.
Echesa made the most improbable statement pointing a finger at powerful President Ruto majordomo Farouk Teigut Kibet as being responsible for masterminding his arrest.
“Fernandes Baraza has no capacity and he is not able to arrest a big person like me,” said the conceited Echesa
He told Faruk Kibet to use his position well and not to harass other people.
Rashid Echesa also claims that he has been a very close friend to Farouk Kibet and they walked together in 2022 campaigning for president William Samoei Ruto and now Kibet is punishing him.

Echesa was arrested slightly over a week ago when a video clip portraying him as an extortionist went viral. His release is undocumented. He caused drama when a day following his arrest he was hospitalised for an undisclosed ailment.
Echesa claimed that he will continue fighting governor Fernandez Barasa alleging the latter is steeped in witchcraft and he will not succeed as a governor.
