Incoming Kisumu Senator Fred Odumo Nying’uro on Tuesday wowed traders at the Ahero Modern Market as he narrated stories about his childhood.
The successful city lawyer reminisced about the days when he attended Karanda Primary School in Ahero town and would diligently come for his cup of porridge at the Ahero Market where his widowed mother ran a vegetable, fruits and cereals stall.
Although it was an impromptu visit, Mr. Nying’uro classified it as a back to the roots tour.
“It would be unfortunate if my fame spreads wide throughout Kisumu, Seme and Nyakach while I only make wide detours of Ahero in Kano. This is where I grew up and I have very fond memories of this place,” said Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro.
He thrilled his audience by recounting names of familiar places in the locality of Ahero.
Fred Odumo Nying’uro also took the opportunity to empathise with the business women and men who were affected by the recent flooding that wrecked their meagre investments leaving them to the mercies of nature.
Wakili who runs a well-structured program to empower women engaged in small-scale businesses promised to return and discuss how the market traders would benefit from his programmed assistance.
In Wakili’s entourage were Chief Strategist and camping manager Linda Kadz Kadz as well as the others from the Fred Odumo Nying’uro team
