East African soccer giants, Young African Sports Club (YANGA) of Tanzania and Kenya’s legendary Gor Mahia Football Club are slated for the inauguration of the 20,000-seater Siaya Stadium.

The two teams are yet to finalise the pay-cut for the day.  Siaya Governor James Aggrey Bob Orengo made the announcement Monday afternoon flanked by Eng. Hersi Ally Said who is also the chairman of the continental body African Club Association and Ambrose Rachier.

Siaya Stadium is a world-class facility that is set to host international matches which have hitherto been confined to Nairobi and Kisumu.

Political detractors of the Orengo regime have questioned the tendering process and financial allocations towards the mammoth project.

“Met the President of Young African Sports Club (YANGA) & Chairman of African Club Association (ACA) Eng, Hersi Ally Said accompanied by the Chairman of Gor Mahia Ambrose Rachier. The teams have agreed to play an inaugural match during the official opening of Siaya Stadium. A collaboration agreement will be prepared for review and consideration,” Orengo confidently posted on his X account.
