Siaya Governor James Orengo has joined the entire judiciary mourning the tragic death of Justice Ogembo.
“Ogembo had marvelous ability to listen intently, reflect quietly, and then interject, usually with brief few words that brought clarity in the Court room. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said Orengo.
Ogembo and Orengo were in consultations with a view to bring down the sexual assaults and Gender based Violence that was on the increase in Siaya.
Ogembo was part of event that saw the second specialized Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) Court in Siaya County.
Ogembo was found dead at his house just few miters from Siaya Police Station.
Its reported that the driver who had dropped him. On Tuesday evening turned up the following morning to pick him, after calling and the phone went unanswered severally, he left and alerted the Judiciary staffs and security personnel.
The staffs knocked in vain.
The security personnel sought for tools and broke the door only to find the judge resting in his bed.
Justice Ogembo’s body was covered with a blanket half way with his hand supporting his head as he slept on his back.
Ogembo has served as Siaya presiding judge for close to two years when he took over from Lady Justice Roseline Aburili who serves at Kisumu High Court.
Kimaiyo said investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of death.
His body was taken to the funeral home in Kisumu for Preservation and autopsy.
