Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has criticized Ruto’s approach to running the government, claiming that while taxes are necessary for good governance, how the money is spent is more essential.

“To run a government, you must have some level of revenue; but, how you go about it and what you do with those taxes is critical. Kalonzo stated that Generation Z has conducted extensive study and discovered that many people in major organizations have been corrupted.

The Wiper leader also expressed concerns about the processes that resulted in the inclusion of ODM senior members into government without a legitimate coalition agreement.

He claimed that the Kenya Kwanza government had not changed despite the presence of opposition members since they had all pledged allegiance to the President.

“We need to tell Kenyans the truth. When you join Ruto’s cabinet as a Cabinet Secretary without a formal coalition agreement, you become his Minister. You pledge allegiance to him, and we all know and live in this country. So the effective Minister of National Treasury is Ruto, not John Mbadi,” he stated.

Under intense pressure from young protestors, President William Ruto was compelled to withdraw the contentious Finance Bill 2024 and replace his entire government just a few days ago.

He went on to name some of Raila’s ODM cabinet secretaries, including former Mombasa governor and deputy party leader Ali Hassan Joho, former Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya, former Ugunja MP and Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi, and former ODM chairman and nominated MP John Mbadi.
