On 26 October a similar eye camp was held at the Pap Onditi social hall in Nyakach with a remarkably high turnout. Screening was done for common opthalmological deficiencies and referrals were made for serious conditions. The elderly were also provided with reading glasses.

Coming, as it does, at the densely populated locality of Kisumu East, the exercise is bound to attract an even larger numbers of patients.

Several local leaders have hailed the Fred Odumo Nying’uro free eye camps as a pioneer initiative in social healthcare.
