Dr. Oduol said that Christmas is a time for bonding with family and friends and wishing goodwill to everyone else.
The DG wished all Kenyans a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. He reflected upon the honor of serving the people of Siaya County for the past eighteen months under strenuous circumstances and was hopeful that the new year will bring a more conducive political atmosphere in Siaya County.
Dr. Oduol emphasized that leaders need to be 100% accountable to the people, transparent and must practice good governance. These, he insisted, are the only principles that would spur economic growth and rapid development.
Oduol said he will pursue the thorny issue of conservation visa-a-vis investor conflict in Yala Swamp to its logical conclusion.
On the national grid Dr. Oduol said: “Kenyans have shown remarkable resilience and stuck together despite the challenges brought about by the unstable Kenya shilling. 2024 has proven, yet again, that above our ethnic and regional differences we have a common destiny and our patriotism and solidarity might be the only weapons to get us through.”
Dr. Oduol has not slackened his calls for credibility in governance and insists that leaders must maintain a 100% accountability status.
Dr. Oduol lauded efforts by President Dr William Samoei Ruto to take on board “experts” affiliated to different political parties. He challenged the team to live up to its billing and help the president achieve his aspirations for Kenya in 2025.
The DG specifically avoided commenting on recent claims made by Alego-Usonga MP Samuel Atandi that a new coalition made up of Energy CS James Opiyo Wandayi, Engineer Nicholas Odero Gumbo and himself was in the offing.
“We will talk about that in the appropriate time. For now allow me to wish a merry Christmas to everybody! One of the best parts of the holiday season is spending time with the special people in your life. Let’s bond with family and friends, make merry but remember to be safe on our roads!”
