The Church of Christ in Africa (CCA) on new year’s Day Wednesday 1 January 2025, held a special joint service dedicated to Kisumu Senatorial aspirant Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro. The service was held at the Church Headquarters in the Dala Hera Cathedral within Migosi Ward of Kisumu Central Constituency.

Led by Archbishop Patrick Ligawa Nyagudi the service aimed at ushering in the new year as well as recognising the spiritual and fraternal commitment of Mr. Odumo to the Church.

The Archbishop described Wakili Fred Odumo as a staunch member of the CCA Church who has supported the church development activities on many occasions and asked the worshippers to rally behind Wakili in his 2027 Senate bid.

On his part, Wakili Odumo assured the church of his continued commitment to support the construction of the church’s Vocational Training Institute in Migosi. Wakili gifted the Church with KES 20,000 for the new year activities.

Vocational Training Institutes in Kenya fill up a vital gap in the education structure.

Meanwhile, local pollster Afripoll has released statistics showing Fred Odumo Nying’uro as the runaway favourite among candidates who have shown interest in succeeding Kisumu Senator Prof. Tom Ojienda whose interests are now shifted to the position of Kisumu Governor.

The pollster places Odumo at 68% with the nearest rival Sammy Odoro at a distant 12% and others trailing at below 4%. Although it’s too early to place capital on poll outcomes, word in the grapevine has shown that his most important rival intends to pull out of the race and all indications are that Fred Odumo Nying’uro might be running against himself come 2027.

With the solid blessings of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leadership in its stronghold of Kisumu, it will require a miracle or something drastically unforeseen for Fred Odumo Nying’uro to lose in the upcoming elections.
