Every day, I pumped fuel for hours, interacting with different people, some kind and others dismissive, but I chose to approach the job with discipline and consistency. For five years, I remained committed, saving over 30% of my earnings and observing how successful people carried themselves. While many saw it as a dead-end job, I treated it as a training ground, a place where I learned patience, humility, and the value of persistence.

My dedication did not go unnoticed. Customers and influential individuals began to recognize my work ethic, and one day, an opportunity came when I was offered a job as a cashier at Tuskys Supermarket in Nairobi. That transition opened my eyes to bigger possibilities, but deep inside me, there was a growing desire to explore life beyond Kenya. In 2001, I watched someone board a flight at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, and in that moment, something shifted within me.
