The youngster who discovered former Wells Fargo manager’s body in a pool of water will now be educated to university level by family friends.

Speaking at the burial of his brother last Saturday at Ongiende village in Segere area of Central Alego, Mr. Aggrey Onyango (Ogire) who is an elder brother to the deceased said that was a gesture of gratitude from the family.

“I ask people who are my friends to pay fees for this boy; I am jobless. David has accepted, I know he is a good-hearted man. Atandi will take it from there to the university, they are good people. When you are going home the family will send you away with something,” said the last Chairman of the former Siaya County Council.

A sombre mood engulfed Ongiende village in Alego-Usonga as the late Willis Ayieko Onyango was laid to rest.

Family and friends eulogised Ayieko for his strong sense of community and dedication to his family.

“The humor and happiness and joy you brought into our lives will never be matched. I am a better person because of the person you were in our lives and I will always love you,” said Esther Wagumba, Ayieko’s widow.

“Willis loved us as sisters and am so happy because he got the best and anytime we were doing graduation and even when he had his wedding all of them were done in my house,” Janet Ngonga, the deceased’s sister, added.

Meanwhile, those present including leaders from the political divide decried the rampant insecurity witnessed in the country accusing investigative agencies of laxity in unearthing the motive behind Ayieko’s murder.

“We must express our displeasure with these abductions and deaths and we blame the police because they are the ones giving Kenyans confidence that you can abduct and get away with it so we do not want theories we want the people who killed Ayieko not the ones who were sent,” said Ugenya MP David Ochieng.

“The absence of security is either committed by the security forces or tolerated by security forces… so they must pull up their socks. The patterns in terms of killings are not ordinary,” Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo added.
