First he met widows from Yak Liech Widows Self Help Group from Seme Constituency with whom he held hearty consultations before sharing out bagfuls of goodies.
As the women from Yak Liech widows group danced in joy and merriment and promised their wholesome support for Wakili come 2027, Fred Odumo Nying’uro was already preparing to visit the next group.
This time it was Jipanga Widows Group in Kisumu East followed by Nyakune Widows Group in Kisumu West.
The bags of goodies kept flowing and at one stop a grateful widow expressed her heartfelt acknowledgement saying: “Fred Odumo Nying’uro has made it possible for us to enter this festive Christmas season not as lesser members of the society but as dignified human beings. This are actions of humanity that voters rarely forget. God bless you Wuod Min Achieng”.
The trail of goodies did not end there and next Odumo was in Muhoroni then Nyakach spreading the love specifically for Kisumu County widows.
He then wrapped up the tour of generosity by engaging Ruoth Oloso Widows Self Help Group in Nyando Constituency where the women said this will be a Christmas like no any other in their memory.
“As we step into the festive season it’s my sincere wish and prayer that no single person is exempted from the joy and happiness that overflows this time of the year,” said Wakili Fred Odumo Nying’uro, adding “all dreams are valid, even those of widows, and my hope is for every resident of Kisumu County to enjoy a merry Christmas and a happy New year.”
The week, however, ended on a somber note when Wakili took time off to condole with a number of families who lost their beloved ones.
On Saturday Senator Odumo condoled with the family of the late Michael Maina Oburu who passed on two weeks ago in Mariwa village of Muhoroni Constituency. Wakili was represented at the event by Mzee Juma Tononoka who delivered Wakili’s promise of 30 bales of water and KES 5,000 to support in funeral arrangements.
Mzee Tononoka recognised Wakili as a strong champion of community development which has been seen and witnessed all over Muhoroni and Kisumu County, at large.
And today (Sunday) Wakili was represented by Joe Ayim and Mzee Juma Tononoka again at the funeral of Grace J.A. Atenyo Abok, a Senior Overseer in the Ministry of Holy Ghost and Repentance Church in Nyando, Boya Kochogo. Wakili supported the family with 40 bales of water and KES 5,000.
