Men Whose Wives Appeared in Russian Man’s Viral Videos Get Relief After Lawyer Offers Help in Kenya

Feb 26, 2026

A Kenyan lawyer has stepped forward following an online scandal involving a Russian man accused of secretly recording intimate encounters with women in Kenya and Ghana.

Esther Wangui, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, said she is ready to represent men whose wives appeared in the now-viral videos in potential divorce proceedings.

The clips feature Vyacheslav Trahov, popularly known online as Yaytseslav.

The videos sparked widespread outrage after they allegedly showed the Russian national filming women without their consent during private encounters. The footage circulated widely on social media, raising serious legal and moral concerns about privacy and digital exploitation.

Wangui said that when she first learned about the story, she initially suspected the women may have been drugged. She compared the situation to cases in Nairobi where criminals spike drinks to exploit victims.

“I was angry and disturbed,” she explained, noting that drugging someone and engaging in sexual activity would amount to a serious criminal offence. At first, she said, she struggled to understand how so many women would agree to meet a stranger so easily.

However, after reviewing the clips and related online reports, Wangui stated that many of the encounters appeared consensual, though reportedly unprotected, and that some of the women involved were allegedly married.

She emphasised that recording intimate encounters without consent remains illegal, regardless of whether the relationship itself was consensual.

Wangui also raised concerns about the potential spread of sexually transmitted infections, urging the public to treat the matter as both a legal and public health issue.

Following the revelations, the lawyer publicly invited affected men to seek her services if they wished to pursue divorce proceedings.

“I am ready to represent any man who recognises his wife in those videos,” she said. “It is devastating to imagine a spouse meeting a stranger and betraying their marriage.”

She further criticised cases where some women allegedly misrepresented their marital status when questioned on camera.

Meanwhile, speculation continues over how Yaytseslav managed to film the women discreetly. Online users believe he may have used smart glasses similar to devices such as Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which are capable of recording video discreetly.

The controversy has reignited national debate on consent, fidelity, privacy rights, and the legal consequences of secretly recording intimate encounters in the digital age.
