National Assembly Speaker Moses Masika Wetangula was among the distinguished guests who flooded  Kenyan Ambassador to Egypt Fred Outa homecoming in Nyando sub-County of Kisumu County this weekend.

During the colourful function Wetangula revealed that Kenyan ambassadors across the continent are under instructions from President William Ruto to popularize Raila Odinga’s Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship bid. 

“The envoys and those of us who have worked in the foreign affairs docket have instructions from the president to make use of our immense contacts across the continent of Africa to ensure Raila sails through,” said Wetangula.

Similar sentiments were reiterated by the Kenyan Ambassador to Egypt Mr. Outa who thanked the president for the appointment and emphasized that they were taking the Raila campaigns very seriously.

“This is a directive from the appointing authority and we are taking it very seriously. Next week I will be traveling to Eritrea to plead with the presidentto support Raila’s bid,” said Ambassador Outa.

If succesful Raila will succeed former Chadian Prime Minister Moussa Faki whose term ends in January 2025.

The thanksgiving ceremony held at Rabuor Primary School  was attended by a host of luminaries and public figures including ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo, Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura, legislator Elizabeth Ongoro, among others.
