Pauline Njoroge has highlighted a potentially historic political alignment ahead of the 2027 General Election, pointing to shifting dynamics among Kenya’s major ethnic blocs.
Njoroge noted that Mt. Kenya communities, Kamba community, and Kisii community have not traditionally aligned politically since 2002, with Luhya community also largely voting independently.
She observed that the 2027 elections could present a unique scenario, with the three previously divergent regions potentially backing the same presidential ticket, alongside support from at least half of the Luhya community.
Such an alignment, Njoroge explained, could significantly influence the electoral calculus, creating a formidable coalition that may reshape national politics. Analysts say this scenario underscores how shifting alliances, regional strategies, and ethnic voting patterns will play a critical role in determining the outcome of the next general election.
The comments have sparked discussions among political observers and voters alike, as attention turns to how these alliances will translate into voter mobilization, campaign strategy, and candidate selection in the coming months.
