The government is planning to effect the Sustainable Waste Management Act which will require every household in Kenya to have at least 3 dustbins to separate waste for recycling. Those without the requisite three will either pay KES 20,000 in fines or go to jail for 6 months, or both.
The Sustainable Waste Management Act of 2022 aims at ensuring clean environment beginning with homesteads.
