Death Toll in Nakuru-Eldoret Highway Horror Accident Rises to 11

10 people have been confirmed dead following a horror-crush on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway. 

The 3.00 a.m. incident involved a 14-seater matatu which was heading to Nakuru, and a trailer truck that was heading in the Eldoret direction.

The accident occurred at the Ngata stretch and those injured were rushed to the Nakuru level 6 hospital.

According to a police officer on the scene, it took close to an hour to separate the two vehicles.

Latest updates show that one other person has succumbed at the Nakuru Level 6 hospital bringing the fatalities to 11.

The dead include the matatu driver and a child.

Police are manning the situation while relatives of the injured and deceased are closely monitoring developments both at the scene and the hospital.
