Siaya Mourns Pragmatic Youth Leader, Jimmy Achich

Former youth leader and political activist Jimmy Achich is dead.

Achich’s body was recovered by police at Rocket Bar in Karapul area of Siaya town.

Unverified reports indicate that the usually vivacious youth could have died from alcohol overdose.

“nonyiewo gilbeys ariyo msinga ma omadho within 25 minutes. Bang mano onindo ekom gi iye” said an eyewitness report to the gruesome incident.

It’s too early to speculate on the cause of his death. 

Together with Junior Oluoch, Auscar Wambiya, Otada Sirkal and a few others, Achich drove the ODM Party youth agenda in Siaya town. Achich was the Mr. Fixit in the Rasanga admininistration. 

News of his death has been met with disbelief as some people claim to have been with him at around 4pm yesterday after the afternoon drizzle in Siaya town. 

A friend who spoke to dalanews.co.ke on condition of anonymity revealed that for some time now Achich struggled with manic depressive symptoms that drove him into hitting the bottle hard.

Several youth aligned to political bigwigs have, lately,  made a huge financial kill with the generous outpouring of tenders from the county government.

Jimmy Achich hailed from Kogelo Nyang’oma location of Siaya sub-County, Siaya County.
